Early Pregnancy

Do you think that you might be pregnant? Did you know that you can have symptoms associated with pregnancy even before you miss your first period? Here are some of the telltale early signs of pregnancy that begin the first couple of weeks after conception.

Early Signs of Pregnancy

• Your breasts may show the first symptom of pregnancy. Because of hormonal changes that take place in your body, as early as 2 weeks after you conceive, you breasts may feel fuller and heavier.

• Those pesky hormone changes can also be the reason that you are tired all of the time. Did you know that if your body gets a high enough dose of progesterone that it can knock you right out. Another cause for your tiredness is low blood sugar, low blood pressure and increased blood production, with all of these causes playing ping pong in your system; no wonder your energy is sapped!

• Morning sickness, which ladies, it's not true about it only happening in the morning. You can become nauseous and vomit at any time during the night or day. This is due to your increased level of estrogen which makes your stomach empty more slowly, as well as your heightened sense of smell, odors can make you vomit pretty rapidly as well.

• Picky eating or you just can't get enough of that chocolate ice cream. Like everything else, your eating habits can be added to the list of hormonal causes.

• Headaches can happen in early pregnancy because of the increased blood circulation.

• The volcanic explosion of hormones that is taking place inside you will make you weep or at the very least unusually emotional. The pendulum can swing back and forth during this time from happy to angry to sad.

• Your basal body temperature elevates during ovulation, but it also will continue to be elevated for longer than the normal 2 weeks which may be indicative of pregnancy.

The down side to all of these early signs of pregnancy is that they are not only signs of early pregnancy, but also they could mean that you are getting sick or even that your period is about to start.

So if you miss your period and have a few of the signs mentioned above you might want to take a home pregnancy test. If you're positive, then you will need to schedule an appointment with your doctor so that your prenatal care can begin.
